## What it is

Lot Shot is a higher-or-lower game built from a curated pool of 119 blue-chip artwork auction records with remotely validated images.

Each round presents two artworks and asks which sold for more. After the guess, the hidden auction price is revealed and the winning artwork carries forward. Cards identify the artist, title, year made, and year sold; prices are displayed in US dollars.

The project is a game about the frequently surprising relationship between cultural reputation and auction value. It is not an appraisal tool and does not claim that an old sale price represents current value.

## Game modes

- Daily presents a deterministic puzzle for the current local date, allows three strikes, stores progress in the browser, and produces a shareable result.
- Classic continues until the player guesses incorrectly and then reports the final streak.
